Greetings Readers.Next up is an game of chess implemented in C++.It is a 2 player game which make use of the graphics library in C++.The game also accepts Keyboard Inputs for movement.

 

The Program:

Its quite a lengthy program,but to simplify the program has been coded with Modules.

  • Graphics.h,dos.h,ctype.h are essential in the program.
  • Modules for each piece such as pawn,bishop,queen,king..etc is declared,which accept 3 integer parameters each.
  • The Initial part is the graphics initialisation part the method is initgraph for initialisation the graphics specify the path such as “F://TC//BGI//” in turboc where the graphics header files are located.
  • outtextxy() is similar to printf in console application,whereas outtext will output on the co-ordinates given as input.
  • The Input key strokes are checked for their validity using their ASCII values.
  • An array of 8×8 is declared for the chessboard.
